ELITE Certified Instructor

Kathie Camara is a self-taught, professional artist who has taken classes from many famous artists in order to develop her own style.  She holds certificates from  Dewberry Designs as an Elite One Stroke Instructor and a Wall & Furniture Specialist and from Decorating Masters Institute as a Faux Finisher and Instructor.  She paints wall murals and takes commissions on furniture, portraits and pet portraits.  When a painting or mural turns out well, Kathie is elated.  She knows that a piece has turned out well when someone looks at it and smiles because it has brought back to them a happy memory.    

Kathie is also a face painter and can be found transforming faces and even applying temporary airbrush tattoos at local public events and private parties.  She teaches others this unique art form at seminars.  Her classes and seminars in Acrylics, One Stroke, Faux Finishing, and Decorative Art are taught at local art centers and she is available to do a demonstration for your group.

In addition to exhibiting her work and teaching classes and seminars at local Art Centers, she sponsors and coordinates workshops in the Orlando, Florida area with many Big Brush oil, acrylic and watercolor artists.   Kathie is a former Editor of The Stroking Edge, Donna Dewberry’s quarterly online magazine for One Stroke students and instructors.     

Clermont, Florida (west of Orlando) is where she lives with her husband, Al, who is her greatest supporter.  Together, they have four grown-up children, and five grandchildren, all living in New England.
